SDC 2300 training day

As part of the purchase of the SDC 2300 that I bought from The Miners Den in Adelaide, you are entitled to a 3 hour training Session. I decided to take advantage of it and booked in for December 17th.

On the Thursday before the training day I thought it best to get a half decent pick. so I dropped into the Den and bought one. While I was there two chaps had just purchased a GPX 5000 each and one had bought a SDC 2300 as part of their package deals. I briefly spoke to them and explained where to get to the training location.

The day did not show much promise weather wise and started raining as I left home. The training was to be held at Jupiter Creek so I was quite familiar with its whereabouts. As I arrived the rain started to ease and looked very much like it would become fine and it did as shown below

Our trainer for the day is Nenad Lonic. Nenad is a very experienced prospector and has been metal detecting for more then 20 years. On top of this Nenad had worked for Minelab for a number of years as a member of their Engineering team. Nenad recently commenced his own company “Phase Technical” and specialises as a metal detecting consultant as well as selling  Metal Detecting merchandise. If your after some metal detecting gear, Batteries or chargers, you should visit his site first.

The day was great and I learned a fair amount even though the SDC 2300 is about the easiest detector to use. Technique has a fair amount to do with it as well. Low and slow is the way to go.

Heavy bush in the area. Not a place to be in during a bushfire.

Out detecting I turned up zip again, but the day as mentioned was very much worth while as Nenad is a very good trainer.

Not sure why I took a photo of my left foot, but why not share it. :)
