I wanted to get some practice editing video so I have put this one together.
hope you like it. It was a bit of fun making it anyway.
Let me know what you think

Put the metal detector in the top box and headed for Mt Crawford. It was a great ride and it was good to get out. Mind you it did get fairly hot so I didn’t stay to long in the Gold fields.
I tried to get some footage which I have put on Youtube. I have to hand it to some people as the sound quality on my clip is terrible. Never mind the main reason was the ride and the filming part is just a learning curve.
I hope you enjoy it. At least you will get to see some of the Adelaide Hills and a great bush setting.
Oh I didn’t find any gold and as mentioned it was a bit hot so I pulled the pin on it a bit early.
I rode into Williams town for some lunch and just wanted something light and ordered soup. They must have heated it to 1000c. Nuked in the microwave.
Anyway all I found was junk.
Hopefully my camera technique gets better over time.
Weather here has changed heaps and is raining heavy at times. Good for the bush fires in the Adelaide hills, but not good for getting out and about. but I did manage 2 hours on the beach.
Found heaps of rubbish as usual. A tent peg that I will use in the garden, $3.05 in coins and a St Christopher charm.
Sorry about the poor photo. I did try Macro mode but it was the best I could do
The Hallmark was very small but after using my Jewelers loop I worked out the “375”. 9k Gold. So I’m happy with that. Best of all is the bush fire threat is over for the time being.
Spent the rest of the day in my shed doing a repair job for the wife. Keeping in the good books (or at least trying)
As part of the purchase of the SDC 2300 that I bought from The Miners Den in Adelaide, you are entitled to a 3 hour training Session. I decided to take advantage of it and booked in for December 17th.
On the Thursday before the training day I thought it best to get a half decent pick. so I dropped into the Den and bought one. While I was there two chaps had just purchased a GPX 5000 each and one had bought a SDC 2300 as part of their package deals. I briefly spoke to them and explained where to get to the training location.
The day did not show much promise weather wise and started raining as I left home. The training was to be held at Jupiter Creek so I was quite familiar with its whereabouts. As I arrived the rain started to ease and looked very much like it would become fine and it did as shown below
Our trainer for the day is Nenad Lonic. Nenad is a very experienced prospector and has been metal detecting for more then 20 years. On top of this Nenad had worked for Minelab for a number of years as a member of their Engineering team. Nenad recently commenced his own company “Phase Technical” and specialises as a metal detecting consultant as well as selling Metal Detecting merchandise. If your after some metal detecting gear, Batteries or chargers, you should visit his site first.
The day was great and I learned a fair amount even though the SDC 2300 is about the easiest detector to use. Technique has a fair amount to do with it as well. Low and slow is the way to go.
Out detecting I turned up zip again, but the day as mentioned was very much worth while as Nenad is a very good trainer.
